Job Title: Senior Homes & Lettings Officer
Location: Hale Village, London N17 (Hybrid Working Across Newlon Stock)
Contract: Permanent / Full-Time
Salary: £44,547 per annum + up to 5% Performance Bonus
Role Overview
Newlon Housing Trust is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Homes & Lettings Officer to join its Homes and Lettings Team, supporting residents across North and East London.
This is an excellent opportunity to join one of London’s leading charitable housing associations, playing a key role in delivering high-quality housing services while building positive relationships with both new and existing residents.
Working closely with Local Authorities, nominated agencies, and internal teams, the successful candidate will support the effective letting of empty properties, tenancy management processes, and customer onboarding activities. Acting as a key point of contact for residents, you will help ensure customers receive professional, empathetic, and solutions-focused support throughout their housing journey.
This role is ideal for someone with strong housing sector experience who combines excellent customer service skills with a genuine commitment to supporting residents and resolving housing-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the successful letting of empty properties and support tenancy processes
Build positive relationships with residents, local authorities, and external stakeholders
Support new residents through the onboarding and move-in process
Deliver high-quality customer service and resolve housing-related enquiries effectively
Ensure properties are let within target timeframes and maximise housing utilisation
Collaborate with internal teams and partners to support smooth tenancy management operations
The Successful Applicant
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience within a housing, lettings, or customer service delivery role
Strong understanding of housing management and property lettings processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrable empathy and commitment to supporting residents effectively
Experience working with Local Authorities and external housing stakeholders
Ability to manage competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Professional and customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail
Technical & Platform Knowledge
Housing management systems
Property lettings and tenancy administration processes
Customer service and case management systems
Microsoft Office applications
Desirable
Experience within social housing or housing association environments
Understanding of tenancy sustainment and resident support services
Knowledge of housing regulations and best practice within affordable housing
Experience supporting void management and property turnaround processes
