Role Overview
Corston Architectural Detail is seeking a commercially driven and data-focused Database Manager to lead the development, optimisation, and growth of its customer database across both consumer and trade audiences.
This is a pivotal role focused on transforming customer data into measurable commercial performance through CRM strategy, lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, and database optimisation. Working closely with the Marketing Director, CRM, Ecommerce, Content, and Analytics teams, you will take ownership of the customer database, ensuring the right customers receive the right communications at every stage of their journey.
The successful candidate will combine strong CRM expertise with commercial awareness and analytical thinking, helping drive customer acquisition, retention, repeat purchase, and lifetime value across one of the UK's leading premium interiors brands.

Key Responsibilities
Own the customer database and CRM strategy across both B2C and trade audiences
Develop and optimise customer segmentation strategies based on lifecycle stage, customer behaviour, purchasing patterns, and audience type
Lead the delivery of automated lifecycle marketing programmes, including welcome journeys, lead nurturing, cart abandonment, post-purchase, cross-sell, win-back, and trade communications
Manage database growth initiatives across digital channels, showroom activity, and events
Maintain high standards of data quality, hygiene, segmentation, and deliverability across all CRM activity
Lead customer retention strategies focused on increasing repeat purchase, customer lifetime value, and reactivation
Ensure full compliance with GDPR, PECR, consent management, and customer data governance
Monitor CRM performance, analysing campaign effectiveness and delivering optimisation recommendations
Collaborate with Website, Content, CRM, and Marketing Analytics teams to align customer data with wider marketing activity
Support the ongoing development and optimisation of HubSpot CRM to meet evolving business requirements
The Successful Applicant
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience within a Database Manager, CRM Manager, or Lifecycle Marketing role
Strong background managing CRM platforms and customer databases within an ecommerce environment
Experience building customer segmentation strategies and automated lifecycle marketing programmes
Hands-on experience using marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Dotdigital, or similar
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret customer data and optimise marketing performance
Experience managing database hygiene, customer data quality, and email deliverability
Excellent understanding of GDPR, PECR, consent management, and marketing compliance
Strong commercial awareness with a focus on customer retention and revenue growth
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Highly organised with strong project management capabilities
Technical & Platform Knowledge
HubSpot CRM or equivalent marketing automation platforms
Customer segmentation and lifecycle marketing
Email marketing and automation
CRM reporting and campaign analytics
Marketing database management
GDPR and PECR compliance
Customer retention and loyalty strategies
Data analysis and performance optimisation
Desirable
Experience within premium retail, interiors, homeware, or ecommerce brands
Experience marketing to both consumer and trade/B2B audiences
Understanding of considered-purchase customer journeys
Experience improving customer lifetime value and retention programmes
