Job Title: C# Developer / Full Stack Engineer

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire (Hybrid Working)

Contract: Permanent / Full-Time

Salary: £85,000 – £100,000 per annum

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong C# Developer / Full Stack Engineer to join a technology-driven trading company operating within highly innovative and fast-paced markets.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative Agile development environment where your work will directly contribute to business performance and platform innovation. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and enhancing complex payment and client systems within a large-scale microservices architecture.

Working with modern technologies including C# .NET Core, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and TypeScript, you will contribute to the delivery of scalable and high-performing solutions while having the opportunity to influence technical direction and recommend improvements across the development lifecycle.

This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with modern cloud technologies, and contributing within a highly collaborative engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend and full stack applications within a microservices environment

• Build scalable solutions using C# .NET Core, JavaScript, and modern cloud technologies

• Collaborate within Agile development teams to deliver new features and platform improvements

• Support the development of payment and client-facing systems

• Contribute to architectural decisions, technical improvements, and best practices

• Work across cloud infrastructure, APIs, and distributed systems to optimise platform performance

The Successful Applicant

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience using C# and .NET Core for backend development

• Frontend development experience using JavaScript with Angular or React

• Experience working within AWS and microservices-based environments

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles including OOP, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms

• Experience working within Agile development teams

• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills

• Passion for learning new technologies and contributing to technical innovation

• Degree educated in Computer Science or a related discipline

Technical & Platform Knowledge

• C# / .NET Core

• AWS

• Kubernetes

• Microservices architecture

Desirable

• Experience working within trading, fintech, or high-performance systems environments

• Exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architectures
