Job Title: Communications & Community Engagement Executive
Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Contract: Permanent / Part-Time
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Role Overview
Leo Group is one of the UK’s leading specialists in animal by-products and renewable energy, playing a vital role within the food, agricultural, and sustainability sectors.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Communications & Community Engagement Executive to support the Group’s public relations, stakeholder engagement, and brand communication activity across multiple business divisions.
This is a varied and hands-on role focused on strengthening the company’s reputation through effective communication, community engagement, social media management, and event coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with Directors, operational teams, local communities, and external stakeholders to help promote the positive impact of Leo Group’s operations and sustainability initiatives.
This role is ideal for a confident and personable communicator who enjoys building relationships, managing multiple priorities, and representing a growing business across both digital and face-to-face engagement channels.
Key Responsibilities
Manage press releases, media communications, and social media activity across the Group
Coordinate community engagement initiatives with local residents, organisations, and government bodies
Organise and attend events, meetings, job fairs, and site visits to promote the business
Create engaging digital content, presentations, and branded materials for campaigns and events
Support branding and imagery management across all Group companies
Collaborate with internal departments to support communication and engagement objectives
The Successful Applicant
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
Experience within communications, social media, PR, marketing, or community engagement roles
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan events and manage competing priorities
Ability to work effectively within fast-paced and changing environments
Strong written communication and presentation skills
Experience creating digital content for social media and business communications
Proactive and adaptable approach with strong attention to detail
Ability to understand and positively promote business operations and company values
