Role Overview

DE Photo NN is seeking a talented and self-motivated Freelance Photographer to capture high-quality imagery across children’s sports and school events throughout Northamptonshire.

This flexible freelance opportunity is ideal for a photographer with a strong creative eye, a passion for storytelling through imagery, and the confidence to work independently in fast-paced event environments. You will be responsible for photographing live sporting action and producing engaging images suitable for on-site sales to parents.

This role offers an excellent platform for portfolio development while working on a variety of exciting photography projects.

Key Responsibilities

Photography & Event Coverage

• Capture high-quality images at children’s sports events and school shoots

• Work independently to photograph key moments and action throughout the day

• Produce engaging, commercially suitable imagery for on-site sales to parents

• Adapt to varying environments, lighting conditions, and event formats

Creative Execution

• Apply strong composition, timing, and storytelling techniques to photography work

• Maintain a professional and creative approach across all shoots

• Ensure image quality and consistency throughout projects

Professional Development

• Stay updated on photography trends, techniques, and industry best practices

• Continuously develop creative and technical photography skills

• Contribute positively to the wider creative team and client experience

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong photography skills with a keen eye for detail

• Good understanding of composition, lighting, and visual storytelling

• Ability to work independently and use initiative during live events

• Excellent organisational and time management skills

• Creative, professional, and reliable approach to work

• Strong portfolio demonstrating photography and editing capabilities

Desirable

• Experience photographing sports, schools, or live events

• Experience working in customer-facing or fast-paced environments

• Basic photo editing knowledge and workflow management
