Role Overview

LittleLAB is seeking a confident and friendly Freelance Makeup & Beauty Specialist to join its established beauty and makeup studio in Bath.

Known for its welcoming, education-led approach to beauty, LittleLAB specialises in makeup, nails, skincare, and workshops designed to make beauty feel accessible and confidence-building. This role will focus on delivering high-quality beauty treatments while creating a calm, supportive, and positive experience for clients.

This is a flexible freelance opportunity ideal for an experienced beauty professional who enjoys working closely with people, thrives in a creative studio environment, and values a thoughtful and approachable client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Beauty & Makeup Services

• Deliver professional makeup services tailored to a range of client needs and occasions

• Provide nail treatments along with lash and brow services

• Support clients with clear guidance and education-led beauty advice

• Maintain high standards of professionalism, hygiene, and client care

Client Experience & Consultation

• Create a welcoming and confidence-building environment for clients

• Support clients who may be new to beauty services or seeking gentle guidance

• Build strong client relationships through a calm, thoughtful, and approachable manner

• Ensure all appointments deliver a positive and personalised experience

Workshops & Events Support

• Assist with seasonal events, workshops, and promotional activities

• Participate in product training and ongoing skills development

• Contribute positively to the studio’s creative and collaborative culture

Freelance Collaboration

• Manage freelance responsibilities including scheduling, availability, and professional standards

• Maintain flexibility to support additional hours during busy periods and launches

• Work collaboratively within the wider LittleLAB team environment

The Successful Applicant

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 years’ experience within makeup and beauty services

• Experience delivering makeup, nail, lash, and brow treatments

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Calm, friendly, and confidence-building approach with clients

• Self-motivated and able to work independently within a freelance environment

• Strong attention to detail and customer service standards

Desirable

• Experience within boutique beauty studios or education-led beauty environments

• Passion for skincare, beauty education, and client confidence-building

• Interest in workshops, seasonal events, and creative beauty projects

Additional Requirements

• Must have the right to work in the UK

• Must operate on a self-employed freelance basis

• Responsible for own tax, insurance, and record keeping

• Ability to work flexibly alongside existing freelance commitments where appropriate

Working Pattern

• Flexible freelance arrangement

• Typically 2–5 days per week

• Additional ad hoc hours available during peak periods and events

• Immediate start available
