Job Title: Marketing and Communications Officer
Location: Creswell / Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Contract: Part-Time, Fixed-Term (2 Years)
Salary: £37,500 FTE (£18,750 pro rata for 18.5 hours per week)
Role Overview
Autism East Midlands (AEM), the leading regional autism charity in the East Midlands, is seeking a creative and proactive Marketing and Communications Officer to support a new social enterprise while contributing to the organisation’s wider charitable activities.
This hands-on role will focus on creating engaging social media content, growing online communities, and developing impactful campaigns that strengthen brand presence and audience engagement. You will lead content planning, videography, editing, and campaign execution while ensuring activity aligns with broader marketing and organisational objectives.
This opportunity is ideal for a creative marketer with strong social media and video production skills who enjoys combining storytelling, strategy, and analytics within a purpose-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
Plan, create, and publish engaging content across social media platforms
Develop and grow social media communities through creative and consistent content
Shape and maintain brand voice while adapting tone for different audiences and campaigns
Identify trends and opportunities to increase engagement and reach
Videography & Creative Production
Lead videography activities including filming, directing, editing, and post-production
Produce high-impact video content optimised for social platforms
Use tools such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere to create professional-quality content
Capture real-time on-site content to support campaigns and storytelling initiatives
Campaign Management & Strategy
Manage end-to-end social media campaigns from concept through to delivery
Support creative strategy and execution aligned with marketing objectives
Ensure campaigns support wider organisational and business goals
Performance Analysis & Optimisation
Monitor campaign and platform performance using analytics and insights
Use performance data to optimise content, engagement, and campaign effectiveness
Deliver measurable growth across digital channels and online communities
Collaboration & Organisation
Work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging consistency and alignment
Bring fresh ideas and creative approaches to marketing initiatives
The Successful Applicant
Essential:
Proven experience managing social media accounts for brands or organisations
Strong understanding of social media engagement, growth strategies, and platform trends
Experience creating and editing video content for digital platforms
Confident using videography and editing tools such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere
Strong creative thinking combined with a data-driven mindset
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging
Desirable:
Experience working within charities, social enterprises, or community-focused organisations
Knowledge or understanding of autism or the social care sector
Experience managing integrated digital campaigns
Salary & Benefits
£37,500 FTE (£18,750 pro rata)
Part-time role (18.5 hours per week)
