E-Commerce Account Manager

Role Overview

Are you an e-commerce-driven sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment? Our client, a respected engineering organisation based in Cirencester, is seeking an E-Commerce Account Manager to take full ownership of its digital sales channels, marketplace accounts, and customer portal.

This role offers the opportunity to combine operational e-commerce management with commercial strategy—driving online revenue, improving customer experience, and supporting the wider sales and marketing function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimise all e-commerce platforms, including the company website, online portal, and third-party marketplace accounts

  • Oversee end-to-end online order processing, including customer registrations, payments, technical issues, and general enquiries

  • Ensure smooth fulfilment by coordinating with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer journey

  • Implement and align digital trading campaigns with broader sales and marketing strategies to maximise revenue

  • Monitor site and marketplace performance, analysing data to identify opportunities for improvement and increased conversions

  • Maintain accurate CRM data while managing inbound online leads, including qualification, tracking, and nurturing

  • Conduct introductory and follow-up calls to progress opportunities through the digital sales funnel

  • Collaborate with global e-commerce teams and internal stakeholders to share insights and best practices

  • Produce regular performance reports covering online sales, conversion rates, traffic, leads, and ROI

  • Ensure product listings, categories, descriptions, pricing, and digital content are accurate and up to date

  • Stay informed on e-commerce trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve processes and user experience

Key Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, E-Commerce, or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in e-commerce account management, online sales, marketplace management, or digital trading

  • Strong CRM experience and confidence using analytics tools such as Google Analytics

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering an excellent customer experience

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities

  • Strong blend of technical capability and commercial awareness

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £32,000 – £36,000

  • On Target Earnings (OTE): £40,000 – £45,000

  • Hybrid working: 3 days in office, 2 days from home (Wednesday office attendance required)

  • Pension: 4% employee / 8% employer contribution

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Death in Service: 4x salary

  • Healthcare included
