Job Title: Integration Developer

Location: Remote (UK-Based)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Benefits

Role Overview

Mears is seeking an experienced Integration Developer to design, build, maintain, and support SQL Server and SSIS-based integrations across multiple business systems.

This role is focused on ensuring data moves reliably, securely, and efficiently between internal and external platforms. You will take end-to-end ownership of integration workflows, from design and development through to monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and safe reruns.

Working closely with analysts, testers, operations teams, and business stakeholders, you will build robust, supportable integration solutions that underpin critical operational processes.

This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong developer with hands-on experience of SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS integrations within live transactional environments.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Design & Development

  • Design, build, and maintain SQL Server and SSIS-based integrations across multiple systems

  • Develop restartable, idempotent, and supportable integration workflows

  • Create and maintain staging layers including validation, cleansing, audit trails, and data quality controls

  • Implement incremental load processes, matching logic, and reconciliation procedures

  • Apply best practices for performance, security, resilience, and error handling

Support & Incident Management

  • Monitor and support live integration processes and scheduled workflows

  • Diagnose and resolve issues including duplicate records, missing data, late-arriving transactions, and schema changes

  • Perform safe reruns and recovery activities following failures or incidents

  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure integrations remain support-ready and fully monitored

  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in integration processes and tooling

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work with analysts and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and define integration rules

  • Collaborate with testers to ensure solutions behave as expected and meet business requirements

  • Support operational teams with troubleshooting and issue resolution

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across integration delivery processes

Documentation & Governance

  • Produce technical documentation including design specifications, support guides, and data flow diagrams

  • Maintain clear records of integration processes and support procedures

  • Ensure integrations adhere to operational and governance standards

The Successful Applicant

Essential

  • Recent hands-on experience delivering integrations using SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS

  • Experience designing restartable and safe-to-rerun SSIS packages

  • Strong understanding of incremental loads, staging layers, matching logic, and data quality controls

  • Experience supporting integrations within live operational environments

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve integration issues and failures

  • Experience collaborating with analysts, testers, and operations teams

  • Strong technical documentation skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

  • Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise effectively

Desirable

  • Experience with C# .NET for custom components or API integrations

  • Knowledge of Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or Azure Data Factory

  • Experience with API integration patterns and API security

  • Experience using Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD processes

  • Experience within housing, repairs, field services, or similar operational sectors
