About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join a regional public sector service as a Communications Officer, supporting a multi-partner fostering recruitment hub. You’ll play a key role in delivering impactful marketing and communications campaigns that increase foster carer recruitment across multiple local authorities.
This is a collaborative, purpose-driven role where you’ll coordinate campaigns, engage stakeholders, and use data insights to improve performance and reach.
Key Responsibilities
Campaigns & Content
Plan and deliver integrated marketing and communications campaigns
Create and manage content across social media, websites, newsletters, and press
Ensure all messaging aligns with brand, accessibility, and Plain English standards
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a central contact for communications across partner organisations
Build relationships with internal teams, local authorities, and external suppliers
Provide guidance on content, social media, and communication best practices
Content Management & Quality
Manage shared inboxes and communication requests
Edit and maintain high-quality, consistent content across channels
Update websites and ensure compliance with internal standards
Analytics & Reporting
Monitor campaign performance and engagement metrics
Analyse data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Produce reports and insights for senior stakeholders
Coordination & Events
Support admin processes, tracking, and workflow management
Assist with event planning and promotional activities
Occasionally attend events outside standard hours
Requirements
Essential
Experience in communications or marketing (NVQ Level 4 or equivalent)
Strong copywriting and content creation skills
Experience managing social media and digital channels
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to analyse data and report insights clearly
Strong organisation and multitasking abilities
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and digital tools)
Understanding of accessibility and Plain English principles
Desirable
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress)
Background in public sector or multi-stakeholder environments
Familiarity with analytics tools and reporting
Professional qualifications (e.g. CIM, CIPR)
Experience in recruitment or behaviour change campaigns
Salary & Benefits
£30,000 – £32,000 per year
Full-time, 3-month fixed-term contract
Hybrid working (Trowbridge-based)
