About the Role

Roots Systems Ltd, a global leader in compressor manufacturing for the oil and gas industry, is looking for a Buying Assistant to support its growing supply chain function.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to procurement, stock control, and supplier coordination, helping ensure smooth operations within a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and obtain quotes for consumables, tooling, and production materials

• Raise purchase requisitions and manage orders through the EFACS system

• Maintain and update part numbers and system records

• Communicate with suppliers and handle general enquiries

• Support account queries and supplier documentation

• Update goods-in records and track inventory data

• Assist with overall procurement and stock control processes

Requirements

• GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)

• Experience in supply chain or procurement (preferred)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Highly organised with attention to detail

• Self-motivated with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

• Ability to adapt and work effectively in a team environment
